This release is a major feature release introducing an enhanced JSON

writer and an extension for pulling out metadata information. This is

helpful for creating a more complete, dynamic doc viewing experience on

websites.
There's also new support for Python 3.12 and Sphinx 6/7.

Built the docs. Checked the release notes for bad links, build errors,

and spelling errors.
